Cooper, Shayk ‘flirt at White House dinner’

Bradley Cooper and Irina Shayk were supposedly eyeballing each other at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner Saturday night.

Bradley Cooper and Irina Shayk reportedly engaged in muted flirting Saturday night.

The 40-year-old Academy Award-nominated actor and the 29-year-old Russian actress were spotted out enjoying a date with each other in New York City last week.

And during the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, it’s claimed Bradley and Irina clearly appeared to be digging one another’s company.

According to Page Six, the glamorous stars rarely left each other’s sides.

“[They] stayed close all night on a patio at the French ambassador’s grand residence, standing in a small circle of friends,” the outlet writes.

But even though Bradley and Irina were seen together, the obvious flirts were allegedly kept to an absolute minimum.

Both superstars have recently broken up with their longtime partners, as Irina split with Portuguese soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo after five years of dating and Bradley called it quits with supermodel 23-year-old Suki Waterhouse after spending two years together.

Speculation is rife Irina and Bradley are very much taken by each other right now.

A source previously told Page Six they’d been “hanging out” for a week straight. However, the insider also noted their affair “is a friendly relationship — for the time being”. Apparently they have both known each other for a long time via mutual friends.

The alleged flirting between Bradley and Irina weren’t the only coquette exchanges taking place at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. According to sources, billionaire Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk kept hitting on supermodel Karlie Kloss all night. But his advances reportedly went nowhere, as Karlie has been in a relationship with Joshua Kushner for quite some time now. …read more

Brad Pitt explains ‘road rash’ face

Brad Pitt has released a statement regarding why he looked so banged up while attending the third annual Light Up the Blues Concert in Los Angeles on Saturday.

Brad Pitt claims his “road rash” bruise was caused by a clumsy tumble up the stairs.

The 51-year-old Fight Club actor attended the third annual Light Up the Blues Concert in Los Angeles Saturday night and his appearance caused an uproar.

Brad sported a big gash under his eye at the event and the star claims that nasty looking bruise showed up after injuring himself in an extremely awkward manner.

“This is what happens when you try to run up steps in the dark, with your arms full, wearing flip flops,” Brad told Just Jared in a press release issued by his spokesperson. “Turns out if you then try to stop your forward momentum with your face, the result is road rash.”

Despite the embarrassing swelling, Brad was determined not to miss the charity occasion, which was emceed by Jack Black.

Light Up the Blues Concert proceeds helps those suffering with autism.

“Regardless, I wasn’t going to miss the Autism Speaks benefit the night after – wonderful people and I was honored to be a part of this important event,” Brad said of why he decided to show up Saturday.

The superstar ended up having a fabulous time at the Light Up the Blues Concert. Brad bid on a Fendi guitar signed by the night’s performers, Spencer Harte, Petra Haden, Nick Guzman and Matt Savage, who all have autism. Brad ended up winning the musical instrument after his $23,000 bid went unanswered. The Light Up the Blues Concert took place at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood and other celebrity guests on the night included Christina Applegate, Gary Cole and Amy Brenneman. …read more

Kate Winslet’s career luck

Kate Winslet has never felt like she needs to find her place in a “man’s world”.

Kate Winslet feels fortunate not to have faced an “identity struggle” since her teenage years.

The actress is enjoying huge success with a role in the Divergent franchise and a part in the upcoming Steve Jobs biography.

In Alan Rickman’s A Little Chaos she plays a woman trying to fight to be heard in a male-dominated world. Even though many actresses would describe Hollywood in a similar way, it’s not been 39-year-old Kate’s reality.

“I’ve been really fortunate,” she admitted to the British edition of OK! magazine.

“I’ve had a very full and lovely career so far and I can’t honestly say that I’ve ever really found myself in a man’s world, struggling for an identity or trying to prove something. I think as a teenager we all fall into those moments of identity crisis, but that’s quite normal.”

In A Little Chaos, Kate plays landscape gardener Sadine who is commissioned to design a water feature for King Louis XIV’s palace at Versailles. In real life, the star isn’t quite so green-fingered.

“I love gardens and I learnt as much as I could, but I’m not a gardener,” she sighed.

“I wish I was. Every year I say, ‘Right, this year, we’re going to do raised beds, we’re going to grow carrots, we’re going to do tomatoes…’ And somehow life gets in the way and we never quite get round to it. My daughter [Mia] is actually putting me to shame a bit. She’s doing a proper gardening project at school and apparently she’s really rather good at it.” …read more

Charlize: Tom Hanks represented a different world

Charlize Theron felt conflicted when returning to South Africa to film Mad Max: Fury Road.

Charlize Theron loved Tom Hanks even before she knew his name.

The blonde actress was a big fan of the screen legend growing up, tuning into his work while living in Benoni, near Johannesburg.

It wasn’t just his talents she admired though – it was the idea that he represented another world out there.

“I loved him without knowing his name. He was that guy with the dog shaking its drool all over the place in Turner & Hooch. I loved Tom Hanks as ‘the guy’. South Africa then was a different culture, but I must have sensed something: I was restless,” she recalled to W magazine.

“I remember the first time I saw a map and realized that South Africa was all the way at the bottom and there was a whole other world out there. Everything – not just moviemaking – felt like it was happening ‘over there’. So, at a very young age, I wanted to explore that ‘over there’.”

Charlize had a tough upbringing, with her mother shooting and killing her alcoholic father when she was young.

She returned to her home country to film Mad Max: Fury Road, which she stars in alongside Tom Hardy, Nicholas Hoult and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. Production took place in Namibia, but it wasn’t always enjoyable for Charlize to be close to home.

“I was conflicted. Everybody knows that feeling of going home and being giddy and then, at the same time, wanting to projectile vomit,” she laughed. “The shoot lasted an eternity – we were there for seven months.”

It was when she was a teenager that the 39-year-old left South Africa and headed to New York. Despite technically being too tall to be a dancer, she says she …read more
